Lauren Forsythe
As a lifelong dancer, Lauren is used to working hard and thinking creatively—two skills that have served her well in her marketing career. Before joining the marketing industry, Lauren trained as a classical ballet dancer for over a decade – something that shaped her skillset and attitude in everything she does.

With a BA in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh and a certificate in Corporate and Community Relations, Lauren first started in the marketing industry as the Marketing Coordinator at MassMutual Pittsburgh and after two years became the firm’s Marketing Director. Through her time and training at MassMutual Pittsburgh, Lauren learned the intricacies of marketing and advertising in the Financial Services Industry – one of the industries she now specializes in working with. Beyond her professional experience, Lauren is committed to continuing to develop and refine her skills to be the best possible marketing partner for small businesses.

It’s Lauren’s passion to help small business owners enhance their marketing efforts, client satisfaction and businesses processes in a cost-effective way. With this in mind, she developed Backstage Creative in 2022 with the goal of working more closely with small business owners to fully understand their goals and work alongside them to grow their business. Seeing the impact that a well-executed marketing plan can have on a business is what drives Lauren to do what she does each day.

When she’s not developing marketing strategies and solutions, Lauren passionately follows classical ballet and remains a dedicated supporter of the arts. Although she no longer actively dances, she’s never been one to shy away from new challenges and has taken up skiing as her newest athletic pursuit. She also enjoys traveling and often visiting her family in Pittsburgh, PA.

Backstage Creative's Story
Backstage Creative was founded in 2022 by Lauren Forsythe. The company’s goal is to work alongside small businesses to save them time, money, and stress without giving up the ability to create and execute a strategic marketing plan. Backstage Creative’s name came from the world of performing arts. As a trained classical ballet dancer and long-time lover of the performing arts, when Forsythe joined the marketing industry, the training and creativity from the arts came along with her. In performance, dancers, singers, and actors are in the spotlight - making everything they do look effortless - so is the part of your business you present to clients. But everything does come ready for center stage. Just like performers practice for a show and crews works countless hours to put together beautiful scenery and lighting packages, Backstage Creative takes care of everything behind the scenes so your business is always ready for opening night with a new client. We are here to bring the marketing magic from behind the scenes to your business’s center stage.
